Sitting in the dark...
Jan. 18th, 2026 11:00 amI woke up early to get some things accomplished and fix my sleep schedule but now the power has gone out. And our power company estimates another few hours before it's back on.
I am so tempted to go back to bed. But I know that won't help. We thankfully turned off my husband's work computers temporary back up power thing. It was beeping constantly. Hey the powers out... Hey the powers out.... And it was driving me crazy.
Because it's storming even though it's daylight it's dark.
On the plus side only a small section of town is effected so I can order lunch if it goes on for longer.
And the cold front will continue all week... Cold temperatures mean more tea and Ian says I shouldn't buy more until my tea shelf is emptied!
But a girl needs 12 or so different flavors at any one time, Christmas blend, Yorkshire gold, English breakfast, earl grey, jasmine green, chai...
*Yawns again*
I'm so bored and alone with my thoughts...

Date: 2026-01-18 07:49 pm (UTC)I agree, there's nothing like having enough variety when it comes to tea. I have a couple of chai versions, some green teas, some herbal teas and at least one black tea. Some are in bags and others are loose leaf tea. There's a nice store in the centre of Munich where they have small tins where you can smell the tea before you buy it. Although, I've had a couple of failures where the taste once brewed doesn't hold up to how it smells before brewing it. I've been working on finishing some up just so I can repurchase my favourites :D

Date: 2026-01-19 02:43 am (UTC)Ooh that store sounds delightful! I mostly buy online or the very common commercial blends that are everywhere.
Most of mine are bagged but I do have one or two loose leaf packages. But those tend to make me feel fussy because I don't like leaves floating in my drink and no matter how well I strain it... Lol.
I bought a tea two years ago that I was really excited to try. A chai tea with fruit notes in it. It smelled great but it managed to taste neither like chai or like fruit tea.
Currently I'm drinking some Christmas flavors from a variety pack my stepmom got me. (Gingerbread, mint, a cinnamon apple type one...) They are very nice smelling and tasting! I didn't think I'd like the peppermint vanilla blend because I normally don't like vanilla but it's become my favorite!
