Technology grumbles, food, and to do list

Grr my phone is not turning on it should have a full battery but it's just not responding. Add to the fact that the speakers haven't been working for a month unless I'm listening to earphones and you have a smartphone that is about to have a date with a hammer.
Have a busy night tonight. Ian's working ten hour shifts without time scheduled for a lunch break unless he wants to arrive earlier or leave later so I want to get so much stuff done around the house and have dinner cooking when he gets home at eight am.
Now onto the delicious talks of food:

Finding that Chinese grocery store has been awesome. Not only did I get a cute rice bowl that's pink with with a big fat cat on it but it has an amazing and inexpensive produce section. Finally I can make veggie stir fry with bean sprouts. Finally I can try new recipes that call for Japanese ingredients that I can't find.
The world is mine. *evil laughter*
First up let's talk red bean paste: Ian followed a recipe to make your own anko or sweet red bean paste made from anzuki beans and a ton of sugar. It yielded way more than expected and after I make a batch of Mochi with anko filling the rest will be frozen.
Dorayaki pastries are crispy sweetened pancakes with red paste in the middle.
These are amazing. Crispy sugary pancake that's nearly cookie like plus my favorite Japanese sweet filling, is very much a win.
Luckily it was pain to make the paste or we might have these all the time and I might gain a billion pounds.
A better shot of the pancake:

I'll type up the recipe we used if anyone wants to try it. We mixed several recipes because we were out of baking soda but did have baking powder. The next time we made it we had baking soda and used the original recipe but it wasn't as yummy.
Next up on our new foods list was omurice. It's a popular Japanese rice omelette... that Ian wanted to try because it shows up a lot on his anime and he's on an anime watching binge now.
I'm a funimation, hulu, crunchyroll widow.
I didn't think I'd like it because I don't like ketchup. I don't like it on my burger. I don't like it on my fries. I don't like hot dogs with or without ketchup... I just don't like the stuff. The filling on this is made with ketchup and it's usually topped with ketchup.
I loved it! Yes, like the main character of green eggs and ham, I tried it and I liked it. Every chicken ketchup fried rice with mixed veggies bite. It might become a common breakfast when I have a left over chicken thigh that needs to be consumed.

Recipe that I used is here:Omurice recipe
History of the dish is also fascinating it started in the early 20th century when restaurants were trying to make western versions of food.
