Thankfully, no one I know lives there or was there for other reasons. I get how daunting it can be though! I've kept checking the news (and your instagram) during both hurricanes to see if everything was okay. And then I found a video about influencers that chose not to evacuate - I'll never understand some people
Christmas Markets here draw a lot of tourists (depending on size, prestige and who knows what else) and we have the tradition to go for a weekend trip to one every year. Or well, larger cities tend to have multiple ones and we tend to pick places where we have plenty to see for all of Saturday and part of Friday before going home on Sunday. This year it was Hamburg. The risk is certainly on my mind as the news does talk about the measures that get taken to try and prevent something happening again. Sadly, nothing ever is foolproof.
The pictures look really lovely. Makes me want to have a cat myself - I'm just not confident I'd be up for everything involved in caring for a pet (of any kind) and until I am, it's going to need to be a no for me. I will admit, I'm living the pet owner life through the people I know instead :)
I hope next year won't be filled with as many stressful and emotional (in a negative way) things for you!
