My boy is home! Miso is currently in our bedroom with Ian since he has to be kept in isolation for two weeks so that we can make sure he is eating only his special food and that he is peeing. I spent the evening with him. Petting him and cuddling him and telling him how handsome he is.

While trying not to think of how we could have lost him. If we had decided to delay it could have turned to renal failure as well and they might not have been able to save him. Despite my phobia of phones I called the emergency vet clinic and explained what was happening and asked if it was an emergency or a wait two days for your vet to open situation. So we brought him in.

Our vet did mention how much he loves our Orange boy again as well as how friendly and charming he is. Miso loves everyone. I'm pretty certain our vet isn't fond of one of my other boys as in April 2023 during a routine blood draw my cat attacked the vet, ripped out the needle, broke the harness they had him in and proceeded to pee and poo himself in terror as my husband, our vet, and the vet tech tried to get him into his carrier. No I'm pretty certain our vet does not love my Mushi cat.

I'll be sleeping on an air mattress in the living room for the next few days with our other cats so that they don't feel alone and so that Miso doesn't make a run for it in the middle of the night when I have to wake up to use the bathroom. I'm legally blind without my glasses and very seldom aware of much when I get up in the middle of the night.

But for now I have a cup of tea, all of my cats are home, and I almost for a second had a brief writing idea earlier. All is better than it's been for the past few days.

2: I totally get it about cats. I've had them all my life except for a few brief periods that involved cat-hostile roommates. I hope that yours (cat, not roommate, ha ha ha) makes a full and speedy recovery. <3

I adore Nine. He's my absolute favorite!

Same I have five cats plus my roommate's one in my house right now. I adore them. Thankfully he seems to be recovering nicely with no signs of a reoccourance. But I'll be happy once he can be out and about with his siblings as he is driving us mad! A healthy cat is a cat that has the ability to meow half the night and try to claw open the door for hours...

Yay! I hope the time of separation between the cats will go as smoothly as possible and your cat keeps on recovering.

So far so good. Went to vet with Nori (the little black cat) for a check up yesterday and the vet clarified that as long as we keep the cats from eating each other's food, Miso has to eat a special food that helps dissolve remaining urinary tract crystals and we can keep a monitor on his litter box usage he can spend some time with his siblings. So we let them spend a bit of time together but one time Miso tried to lick the floor where the normal food is to try and get his usual food and the other time he didn't want to stay where he needed to and kept trying to get into the container where his crunchies were. So he might only get to go out when Ian's also home to keep the shenanigans to a minimum.

Yay! That sounds like a lot of work, but still nice for the cats :)

I'm glad to hear he's back home and I hope his recovery goes smoothly!

My Binks has to eat special diet food for the urinary tract crystals they found in him (he spent a week at the vets about 7 years ago).
