I've kind of gotten out of Harry Potter some time before the thing with JK Rowling came to my attention (before it happened / got big?) and with all of that, I thought I'd be out of it for good. However, I've recently dipped my feet into that fandom. To be fair, I mostly read stories that fixes plenty of issues in the wizarding world including prejudices and adults that try to keep Harry from danger while not doing anything to actually prevent danger from going to Harry...
It's also been ages since I saw Doctor Who. I started the first season with the female Doctor (13th?) and then completely lost track of new episodes coming out. I liked Clara, but I struggled to connect when the 12th Doctor came along. I wanted to like that Doctor - the stories just didn't do it for me and I think it was kind of a death knell. I liked the companions of the female Doctor, but also didn't connect to all of the stories. There were some good ones. Just not enough to revive the dwindling interest, I guess.

Family can look whatever we want it to look like!
