Naming theoretical children...

I'm in a better mood... a nice bubble bath cures a lot of ills.

I've managed to theoretically name my theoretical child if it's a boy but a girl name is proving difficult.

If I have a boy he'll be named Geoffrey Francis (after my deceased father in law Jeff (sort of, I don't like Jeffery as a name) and the fact that both Ian and I had grandfather's named Francis). Easy naming doesn't take long both Ian and I like it. Done.

If Ian and I conceive a child like we're considering doing in the next two years, and it's a boy we're already prepared with a nice name.

It's with girl names that we run into problems... I want to name our child after family that has gone before us. But we can't seem to get a name we like.

My great grandmother was named Rose (and it's one of two reasons I have Rose for a middle name).
My grandmother on my father's side was named Eileen Rose and she's one of the few people in my childhood who I knew loved me unconditionally.
My husband's grandmother on his father's side was named Judith Ann... his other grandma is still alive.
A woman who was a mother figure to me and my best friend's mother was named Penelope Marie...

So many names and nothing that we both agree on.

Penelope is out. I like Anne as a first name but Ian thinks it's middle name only material. Ian likes Marie as a first name but I only like it as a middle name.

Eileen Anne Marie or Judith Marie Rose were names I thought of but Ian's only response was hmm...

So if we do end up having children I had better pray that it's a boy or the little girl might end up with names drawn from a hat.

Fandom thought: Ever get a fanfiction idea for a pairing you don't like?
