I woke up wide awake at 2:30 this morning and I can't seem to go back to sleep.

At least it gives me time to figure out our lunch situation we didn't get to the store yesterday and we only have enough chili left over for one.

I think I have all the ingredients for Chicken and Fennel but I hate making Ian cut up veggies first thing in the morning but cutting them myself is a bad idea because then I get deep cuts on my hand and the knives are quite sharp.

I think we have pasta sauce... I'll figure something out.

Guess who's going on an adventure this coming weekend? We bought solar eclipse glasses expecting that even if Ian couldn't get two days off from work for us to drive North we could at least see the partial solar eclipse but he was able to get the days off.

So off we go to a hotel near the eclipse path so that we can see the full eclipse. It should be fun.

And we're going to a city I've always wanted to see.

So that's something to look forward too. ^_^

I'm thinking of lunch as well. Especially in light of Italian food for dinner. I could get a salad for dinner, but - I won't be back to that Italian until the next time I visit my parents. And I can make a salad just fine on my own.

That sounds like fun! I remember being at work the last time there was one (or just a partial?) here in Germany and everyone was looking out of the window with various hand made things. I think one or two actually brought the correct glasses and they were also passed around.

I've never seen one before so I'm really looking forward to it although I'm sad I can't take pictures because it can damage my camera. Ah well.

LOL, last one that was partial here I don't think anyone mentioned anything about at the time so I slept through it.

I think I risked it and took some picture with my phone (and to some extend I tried to do it through the glasses), but I didn't much care for the phone in the camera anyway since I have a nice big one. By now I have a new phone and the camera might just be a bit better than the previous one (with zooming and focusing).

I probably wouldn't have realised it was time if one of my colleagues hadn't prepared for it :)
